Dear fellow scientists and friends of selenium research community,

It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of Professor Dr. Xuebin Yin, a friend, colleague, and one of the three founders of our International Society for Selenium Research (ISSR).

Dr. Yin's vision and dedication helped build this society from its earliest days, and he served us faithfully as Secretary and Vice-President for many years. He was also a leading scientist, whose work with his research group shaped our research field in lasting ways. Yet what so many of us will remember most is his gentleness - the patience and genuine care he showed to young researchers, and the quiet support he gave to anyone finding their way into our community. We have lost a cherished colleague and friend, and our field has lost one of its guiding figures.

To his family, we extend our deepest condolences. Please know that Dr. Yin is and will be remembered with gratitude and affection by all of us, and that you are in our thoughts during this difficult time.
